COMMISSIONS

How would you like to have a special, one-of-a-kind piece created specifically for you, or gifted to someone you love? Commissioned pieces are a meaningful way to bring a unique vision to life, while transforming the viewer and the space where the artwork is displayed.

Personalized paintings forge a bridge between the seen and unseen realms. Connecting with your essence on a deeper level, let’s bring something to life that echoes through your space and your life.

What are Commissions?

·      A one-of-a-kind piece created specifically for you.

·      A unique and meaningful gift for someone you love.

·      A way to communicate the ineffable, while enriching the ambiance of your home, office, or community space.

I accept commission requests with a non-refundable deposit that will be applied towards the overall cost of the commission.

Keep in mind, custom paintings take longer to produce (1-4 months, depending on size, subject matter, complexity, and artist availability). Available to ship worldwide. Pieces are shipped varnished and ready-to-hang, but unframed. Unless otherwise discussed, framing is up to your discretion.

Note: I consult with you about themes, color story, and general aesthetic to ensure you are happy with the final product. At the same time, in order to have the best outcome for your painting, I have found that it is best to keep an open mind with regard to the imagery, to allow for the piece to emerge through my interpretation and artistic style.

The Process: Some things to Consider…

Step 1: Your ideal PLACEMENT

Consider where you’d like to display the piece. Is it in your living room, an office or bedroom, a community space? What is the space primarily used for? What is the vibe you’re going for? What items and decor exist in the space where it will hang? What is the color story of the space?

Step 2: deciding on a SIZE

Knowing where you’d like to put your commissioned painting will help you select a size that will compliment the space. It’s generally visually pleasing to have a painting large enough to fill the space with ample presence, but without overwhelming the wall it hangs on. Once I have received your Commission Request Form (below), I will be happy to consult with you personally on size, and what will work best in your space.

Step 3: Your SUBJECT MATTER

Here are a few types of commissioned paintings that I create for my collectors. (Request for other subject matter can also be discussed. You’re welcome to look at my gallery for other works that inspire or speak to you as a reference point.)

  1. Power Animal Pieces:

Is there a particular quality you would like to evoke in a space, or an aspect of your essence or you’d like to connect with? Is there something about you that you’d like to celebrate, accentuate, or re-include?

Visual imagery not only communicates our aesthetic preferences, but it can also reawaken aspects of our subconscious terrain.

Bringing elements of nature and wildlife into our living spaces can help us to re-wild aspects of the psyche, building a bridge to the natural world, and inviting our true nature to emerge.

2. Personalized Intuitive Pieces:

Simply invite me to craft a personalized piece, and I will collaborate with the creative forces to deliver a message directly for you through a unique piece of fine art. Themes, color story, and materials can either be discussed as a guideline, left to the artist’s discretion.

3. Transformative or Contemplative Portraits:

Reflect a likeness of the person captured in the piece, as well as elements of their character and life story. I’ll ask that you send one to three high-definition photographs with good lighting, so I can get a feel for the subject and accurately represent their essence in the painting. If there are particular themes and imagery you’d like to have included in the piece, we can talk about that during your consultation.

4. Celebrating Children:

Crafted for young people (or the family members who love them), these are pieces created to reflect, celebrate, and inspire our little ones through the world of imagination and their favorite things. Would you like to commission a piece that captures and reflects their essence in their environment?

Step 4: Compile your INSPIRATION

Before beginning your painting, having an idea of what inspired your interest in my work is helpful. Things you might consider:

  • Which paintings of mine are your favorite?

  • What color or color combinations do you enjoy, and might like to have incorporated into your commission? What colors would go well in the space you’ve chose for your piece?

  • In the Commission Request Form below, you’re welcome to include a few examples as inspiration and ideas for the piece. Once you have sent your request, I will follow up via email to discuss these ideas with you in more detail.

(Keep in mind, even with reference themes and images, each piece takes on a life of its own, and no two paintings are alike.)

Step 5: Decide on a final idea and discuss PRICING

Once I have received your commission request form and have followed up to determine exactly what you are looking for, I will send you a price quote. Pricing for commissions run higher than my other gallery works due to the detailed process of working with you on a special custom design.

I ask for a 50% deposit before beginning the piece to secure your commission, with the remaining balance due upon completion of your painting. Once I have received a digital signature on our agreement, and your down payment, let the commission begin!

Step 6: Sit back and relax while I finish the PAINTING

Completing a commissioned painting usually takes me 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the size, medium and complexity. Once I have finished the painting, I will send a photograph of the finished piece. Then, once you have viewed your painting and we have both agreed on the final product, I will ship it to you signed, varnished, and ready to hang on your wall! All original paintings come with a certificate of authenticity signed by me, and are packaged with gallery standards to ensure safe arrival.

Note: Framing is a personal preference and in most cases not provided by the artist, so you can dress the piece in a custom frame at your own discretion.
