Crossing Riverbeds
Sometimes we must cross riverbeds to get where we’re going.
Life requires that kind of devotion, incisive attention to traverse the spaces between.
We have to care that much, to focus, with precision. Determined and cutting.
I’ve learned that crossing the current is more appropriate, at times, than floating downstream.
It can seem like loss, to join the party for a while, then to realize there is a home that is more true. That’s where the real celebration begins, and the wealth rushes in with the letting go.
I have learned to love the moment, while knowing I’m always coming back home.
This conviction contains an indestructible love that lives like a flame, unending, even when the lights go out.
